Meeting the Need for High Quality Teachers: e-Learning Solutions

Vice President In a white paper prepared for a recent U.S. Department of Education Leadership Summit, EDC Glenn Kleiman discusses ways that elearning approaches could be used to help meet the teacher quality requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act. In the paper, "Meeting the Need for High Quality Teachers: eLearning Solutions," Kleiman presents principles of effective professional development and discusses some of the ways elearning can serve as a component of a successful program. He goes on to look at the characteristics of a number of innovative elearning programs for educators along with some of the challenges raised by elearning approaches.
